- In 2013, an m-vac, a machine that in use can find touch DNA on surfaces, was used to find DNA on the murder weapon. The DNA pointed to a Joseph Simpson(pictured below 3) in Florida. At time sheriff of wasatch county Todd Bonner staked out a smoke shop, and when Simpson flicked out a cigaret butt. Bonner picked up the butt and found a solid DNA match to Simpson. Simpson was charged with argovated murder in 2013. He now has life in prison.
- The main reason this case was solved was the invention and use of the M-vac. We can rest assured knowing that touch evidence is now easier to find. Let's hope crime lessens in the wake of this nvention
